For Phawker.com, referring to Palin's idea that the Tea Party should join the Republican Party. I'm fighting the temptation to make some obvious jokes.
We're playing this show and it will be amazing. As for the poster, I'm trying to find a way to silkscreen these in time for the show so I can sell edition prints. The color will probably change by then but I wanted to digitally color it to start promoting the show online.
I recently put my spin on an old Star Trek cover for Covered Robert Goodin who started the blog is a good guy and a very talented artist. Please check out the blog to see past contributions.
I did a quick illustration for Illustration Friday this week. The word to illustrate was Muddy. My first inclination was to draw Muddy Waters because he's awesome but with the sex tape of John Edwards coming to light I thought what the hell. I feel like Mark Sanford and Tiger woods are played out now so here's another obvious choice.
I started this portrait to create an illustration to reveal the obvious hypocrisy of Rupert Murdoch. I was going to draw characters from all the offensive (and funny) shows that Fox has aired and place them behind the conservative Murdoch. As I was drawing this I thought I would refine the sketch as a more realistic drawing and drop in a simple background instead. This is the progress so far. I'll post the final illustration soon.
This is a cover illustration for this week's Philadelphia Weekly. Jonathan Valania from Phawker.com gives his account of what he saw and heard when he sat it on a recent Tea Party meeting. If you're in Philly definitely check it out. I'm also including an alternate illustration I drew before the final image.
