Article for NBC Philadelphia on the Mann posters

Here's the artcle written by Jennifer Brehm. She was nice enough to ask me a few questions and write about the recent poster project I did for The Mann Center in Philadelphia.

Biggest Poster Job To Date!

Image
Jon Hampton at AEG Live contacted me a while back with the idea to illustrate and design a set of 7 posters for upcoming concerts the were presenting at the Mann Center in Philadelphia. At first the posters were to all line up and connect one show at a time but the idea changed last week to make them all be able to connect to one another in any combination. This forced me to make the posters a little less dynamic but I'm still happy with them. I ended up with only 2 days to redraw and ink them all. Check out the original sketch at the bottom to see what might have been. I might still finalize the original sketch later this summer when I have more time...just for fun. These posters will be given out for free at each show so be sure to grab one if you find yourself at any of these concerts. 6,000 will be printed for each show! *I removed the larger images until after the shows are done but I'll add the low res colored versions after each show.

Very quick City Paper cover out today

Here's the original I sent and the printed version with all the type. It was a same day turnaround job and I'm not totally happy with the Uncle Sam but I think it turned out ok.

Anthony Bourdain - Raw Meat

Here's an illustration for the City Paper. My friend Neil wrote a review of Raw Meat, Bourdain's new book that sounds like a great read. Here's my manic interpretation of the review.

Kick Start Co Op

Really cool new site run by illustrator John Holcomb where he posts profiles of artists' work along with music they listen to while working. I suggest you all check it out at www.kickstartcoop.com/
